Many questions about graduation date despite having 10 years experience. Felt very different from what the interview should be about and unnecessary for the role itself. A graduation date can date a person's age.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Shopify (New York, NY) in Aug 2024
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter via email, who them set me up for both a technical screen and aptitude test. The aptitude test was similar to IQ tests. The technical screen was a pretty basic "you drive while we pair program a problem." The technical problem had very little practical application to web development jobs so I'm not sure why they have people do it.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Shopify in Jan 2024
Interview
I work at Shopify and referred two friends.
Initial call with recruiter, a nice conversation. After that tech task - simple code task like "Roomba" with iterations, like add obstacles, think if we can make it infinite, etc. Next stage was personal growth interview, and that's where my both friends finish their process without understanding how this conversation could be the end. Both friends prepared well (read material provided about Shopify) No explanation was provided neither to them or me, just rejection and that their experience is not a match? Both candidates are 5+ and 15+ years of experience. I heard very similar feedback from other colleagues who were referring. It just looks like positions are open but hiring is not really happening
