I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shopify in Sep 2017
Interview
You start off with a life story chat, then you have a technical conversation with the Shopify team you would be assigned to, and then you get an offer (if all goes well of course). In order to get the life story chat, you have to complete a bunch of programming exercises and create a Shopify store selling some sort of dummy product.
I had a life chat story with Reilly and then got told around 3 weeks later that I was not moving on to the next round. I guess I had a boring life story.

Question 1
Just general questions about my education and career path.
I applied online. I interviewed at Shopify in Jul 2017
Interview
Asked 2 or 3 questions that could have been answered just by looking at my resume. Overall it was a waste of time. Im not sure how you can effectively screen candidates by asking 2 or 3 questions over the course of 5 minutes.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Shopify (Kingston, ON)
Interview
Started with the infamous life story, where I spoke to a general intern recruiter about - you guessed it - my life!! Starting from where I grew up to any projects I've been involved in. They want to get a sense of you as a person and see where your strengths lie. Followed by an interview with the person who would be my lead at Shopify.
