I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Shopify in Feb 2017
Interview
Asked to created a store that met certain criteria, was fairly involved. Response to that was "looks good!" nothing more.
First interview was a full hour via skype, interviewer was 20 minutes late. It was described as a "super casual" getting to know each other interview and the questions basically led to a narration of my life story? There was no way to tell what exactly they were evaluating me on.
Was told I'd hear back the next day, which I did. Next step would have been a practical three hour "working interview" in which the interviewer would pose as a customer with issues via phone, chat, and email.
I did not get past the first interview and the reject email was kind of... apologetic? As if it wasn't the guy who wrote it who made the decision. But he had been the one to interview me. Really strange.
The first Interview was on phone interview. I did not pass through to next stage of the process, which was an online test. After that would be another formal interview.

Interview
The interview process was pretty intense. They asked me about my life story, but I’d also created a store before that. Then I had to do a technical interview where I pretended I already had the job.

Interview
The interview experience was professional, friendly and organized. Interviewee did notify via email whether I got the offer or not. Great to hear back the results since typically companies don't.
