The hiring process at Shopify takes an average of 29 days when considering 2 user submitted interviews across all job titles. Candidates applying for Lead Software Engineer had the quickest hiring process (on average 1 day), whereas Senior relevance engineer roles had the slowest hiring process (on average 56 days).
I have a feeling the postings are fake (used to maintain their pipeline but not actually hiring). Applied for the NA entry-level position. The recruiter ignored my multiple emails. Replying to emails is literally a recruiter's job and the least they could do.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Paris) in Feb 2022
Interview
4 rounds of interviews. HR, Hiring manager, Internationalization Engineer I'd be working closely with, then the director. Everybody was very friendly and professional. All hiring team members were extremely well prepared and asked relevant and useful questions, they obviously knew what they were looking for and we were on the same page. HR person however was not well prepared. I requested salary range from the very beginning to ensure we weren't wasting anybody's time and she said as I was based out of Europe she'd have to get back to me because she didn't know the range for EU. I told her I was looking to be close to 6 figures due to me currently being on 75K. She obviously didn't retain this information because she was shocked that I wasn't thrilled at her offer of 70K, stating that was the max they could go. An entire 2 weeks of interviews and preparation wasted.

Question 1
How would you handle adapting to processes and priorities that can change from one day to another?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2021
Interview
Interview process is 2 rounds, important to have a foundational understanding of Shopify. If no prior experience with Shopify, I recommend testing out a free trail so you can get an understanding of the platform a head of time.
