Be advised: the interview process will not assess your core skills as a data scientist. This process will assess software engineering fundamentals, data engineering knowledge, and surface-level BI skills. The post seeks "Experience with applied statistics and quantitative modeling (e.g. regression, survival analysis, segmentation, experimentation, and machine learning)", but -- despite presumed potential for applying these concepts at Shopify -- you won't be tested on any of this. If you specialize in applied statistics and ML, forget your expertise and instead study up on medium-level LeetCodes, SE interview norms, and data eng tooling.
