Shopify Software Engineer interview questions

The first interview was an easy programming problem. The second was a conversation about my professional software engineering experience. After this interview I did not hear anything but had to reach out to hear that I was rejected. In the second interview I tried to hit upon each of the values that they were looking for but unfortunately it was not enough. Not exactly sure what they are looking for but I gleaned that they are looking for someone who specializes in a development area (front/backend) which I have not done. I should have gathered this because the interviewer was asking me over and over what area of the app I was working on (front/backend).

I received an email from a Development Manager at Shopify asking if I was interested in working there. We had a 30 min chat and I decided to apply. The process was very similar to what they described on the website. I had a 30 min tech challenge with a developer, then a life story interview with a recruiter, and finally a big session interview that included 2 pair programming sections (75min each) and 1 hour deep dive technical interview. They were very kind to send a Uber Eats voucher on the last interview since it was a long one. All interviewers were extremely nice and helpful. The whole process took 3 weeks. I received the good news one day after the last interview.
