I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Shopify (Moncton, NB) in Nov 2019
Interview
The interview process was enjoyable and engaging. First interview I spoke about my life story, then I had several interviews with staff (3 ppl + 1 code test), and then the final interview was a code challenge.
The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Waterloo, ON) in Jun 2019
Interview
There is a 2 part interview: a Life Story interview and review of a technical project. The Life Story is a pleasant 1-on-1 with an intern recruiter (non-technical) where they assess if you fit the culture of the company. The technical project review, done a few weeks later, assesses how you can walk through a project you've created.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shopify (Nairobi) in Oct 2019
Interview
The first stage was a 30 min video call. The aim was to find out if I was a good fit,
The next stage was a technical interview. pretty standard, select language you are comfortable with. It is meant to last 1 hour but you can finish in less than 30 min depending on how good you are.
After that, I got to the technical deep dive. This is where the journey came to an end for me. You select a project you have worked on before and break it down, highlighting your role and experience. The feedback I got is I didn't to a thorough deep dive into the project I selected.
