I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slack (New York, NY)
Interview
I received an email for a screening the an interview. I was asked to send my portfolio. I sent thank you emails. I never heard back. I never heard back. Ghosted.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Slack (Dublin, Dublin) in Jul 2021
Interview
After I applied I received an email from the recruiter asking to complete written assessment. Customer- oriented questions (4); asked to provide details based on my experience.
Next stage, after they reviewed the answers, they scheduled a video interview. The interviewer was based in the US - competency based questions 'Give me an example'; 'tell me about a time when you...'. Looking for STAR model when answering.
After this stage there were supposed to be 2 more stages: another video interview and written assessment. However, I got rejected after the 1st video interview. I received a general no-reply email saying that I was not successful at this time.
Overall pleasant, professional, very detail-oriented interview. They want you to be a 'culture fit' more than anything.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you provided a truly remarkable customer experience
Interview process began with a recruiter call, followed by a zoom call with a hiring manager. It took a week and a half to get any feedback from the hiring manager call to setup the next steps for a take home assignment. After getting that setup I completed the assignment very quickly and received a call saying that I passed but they had moved the position out of the country. Basically a huge waste of time, no information was given for how to proceed given that I passed all the steps up to the take home assignment or what to do when I apply again. Would expect something like this from a small startup not something like Slack. So disappointed.
