Similar to other reviews on here; applied via a recruiter, had a very engaging chat with HR person who gave a great description of the role & company, and went through my resume in detail. Was told there and then that I had progressed to the next round, which was a take-home coding exercise.

Question 1
Implementing a console app drawing to the console in response to commands. Has been described by others on this site so I won't go into detail here.
A nice exercise in many ways as you have the chance to demonstrate your coding abilities in a pseudo-realistic scenario as opposed to the more traditional 'implement a B-tree on the whiteboard for me', 'answer the Monty Hall problem for the n-th time' style.
But was clearly going to take a good few hours to do properly/meet all the criteria in the spec, particularly as e.g. it requires GitHub tracking which I haven't used before, believe it or not, so additional time required there too.

Interview
The interview consisted of three stages, the first being an overall description of the company and high-level challenges. The second stage was a technical pair programming session, this gives you a feel for the day-to-day work. The final session was just to see if you got on with the product manager within the team, this was also an enjoyable part of the interview.

1, introduction with the HR 2, general questions related to my working experiences 3, coding challenges related to data manipulation and SQL queries. 4, system design and other high-view questions 5, team interviews about the culture, and vibe, with the potential team members. Overall, after spending two months with them, HR said they couldn't provide sponsorship, which I had asked them at the very beginning. Disappointed.
