      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Springer Nature

      Interview

Went to the first stage interview, a mostly informal chat with some competency based questions. Despite chasing and some periods of radio silence, it took two weeks to learn of the outcome, although another candidate getting through to the next round and booked in for the next stage pretty much instantly. I was also encouraged by recruiter to disclose my neurodiversity during the interview. I do not recommend doing this. Despite all the guff on the website about D&I and the award they have paid for to win, it clearly is just lip service. Final insult is that there was "no specific feedback" as to why they wouldn't be progressing the application. I could be coming across like a 'sore loser' here, but candidate experience is important. Having to explain to a recruiter / employer why you should be afforded common courtesy is not a good shop window for what it would be like to work for the company.
