I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Tableau Software in Aug 2012
Interview
Applied online, quick response, did an initial phone interview. Thought the interview went well, and they assigned me coding problems in C or C++. I kicked out the code which was fully unit tested, and waited for a response. After two weeks or so I realized that I wasn't going to get one. Wasn't terribly disappointed - while the visualizations they're building are neat, their software demo is REALLY slow.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tableau Software (Seattle, WA)
Interview
Applied on line and had initial interview within 2 weeks. Was requested to speak with existing reps to "get their approval". Was requested to travel to Seattle for interview and demo of their product. Interviews started at 8:30 and went through 12:30 including the demo. Met five people from sales functions in a fast paced impersonal discussions. Was not offered the position. Eight months later was requested to interview again in a remote location. Met "New" members of their team for another 3 hours. Was informed via HR I was rejected because I was not "excited" enough.

Interview
Strange company hiring process. Similar to another reviewer, had several phone interviews with the HR recruiter and the Vice President hiring for the position. I did connect the HR recrutier a few days after the call with the hiring VP, and was told that they would get back to me on results/next step. But, have never received a response since then, it has been well over a month now. No responses from either the HR contact or the VP hiring manager. You would think they would have the courtesy and professionalism (especially from a group VP level) to inform a candidate they did not want to continue. Makes you wonder if this attitude extends to aspects of their business..
