I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Texas Roadhouse (Cheektowaga, NY) in Sep 2023
Interview
First interview was great with the kitchen manager we went over a lot of things seen eye to eye on the process of things and said I would end up having a second interview with the managing partner of the restaurant.
A few days had gone by and was contacted by the managing partner to set up an interview with him. I had arrived 10 minutes prior to time of interview. I was sat down at a booth and waited over a hour for him to come out for the interview. He told me his liquor shipment had come so I said that was fine. We talked about a few things in general. I knew a lot of stuff after eating there many times almost once a week.
Then …the bombshell. During the interview he came out and said quote: “Are you disabled?! - you do understand this is a fast paced restaurant, do you think you’ll be able to keep up?!”
I was kinda flabbergasted by this and said yes Ive eaten at this restaurant many times I see and understand what happens here.
I could not believe what I had just heard. Then after I answered he said I’ll be right back.
He walks away goes into the kitchen and comes back about 10 minutes later and says maybe we can start you on salads do you think you could handle that? I had then replied sure of course.
He then said well I’ll look into things and if I find something I’ll give you a call.
Said thank you and we parted ways.
