I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Uber (Jakarta) in Feb 2016
Interview
The hiring process for an Intern position was very straight-forward, a la chat style on the phone. The interview was very casual, typical of Indonesian culture.
As hiring process progresses, things become very fishy on UBER's end. The company all of a sudden cut off all forms of communications. My requests for information were met by the usual, "Sorry, but we're very busy at the moment. We'll get back to you in a couple of weeks." This went on for three months.
In the end, I decided to declined the offer and went to another tech company.
I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Uber (Bruxelas) in Aug 2015
Interview
Two interviews with two Senior Operations Managers after applying online. Very straightforward and rapid interview process. I was happy to meet Operations Managers and had a nice talk with them. Case interview and personal questions, that was it.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in Dec 2016
Interview
Applied on campus - There were two rounds for the interviewer. The HR slogged a lot before giving me dates for an interview. I cleared the first round and the first interviewer was really friendly and the second one did not seem interested enough!
I took some time to reach a recursive brute force solution and hence no time was left for optimization.
