I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Ubisoft
Interview
The interviewer was cool and chill for the entire session. Most questions were catered towards the technical questions instead of the standard "Tell me your strengths/weakness" stuff.
Its good to prepare your portfolio and credientials beforehand to easily show it when asked upon.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ubisoft (Montreal, QC) in May 2014
Interview
It was a long time ago. But I was getting out of a video game school and Ubisoft was really pro-active to get new talents. They came at our school, got the recommandations from our teachers then gave a try to almost all the studio for an interview.
It was (and still is) a 1vs3 interview. You usually meet an HR folk, then a manager and finally a veteran or senior employee in the position you apply.
It's mostly gentle talks about your motivations, your origins, what in your experience can give you more values than other, your type of personality, the way you solve problem, classic stuff, but they give you the time to answer and they know how to make you feel comfortable.

Question 1
What is your mid-term goal? Important questions, since it hint at your type of personality, such as if you have ambition, if you are under control, if you know enough about yourself so that you can have realistic goals.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ubisoft (Montreal, QC) in Apr 2012
Interview
Very straightforward questions, testing basic design experience but mostly probing my attitude and work habits/style. What games have I worked on, what went well or badly about those projects, etc. I explained a bit about past projects from a tools and workflow perspective, and talked about what aspects of my work I had most enjoyed or was most proud of on those projects. It felt like they were testing me mostly as a "culture-fit" rather than inquiring as to my design knowledge, which I think was okay for the reasonably generic role they were hiring me for. They wanted to know if I was right for their team, more than they wanted to know if I was an especially clever or talented designer.

Question 1
Do [I] understand that people in Quebec speak French? (Because many people who move here struggle with this.)
