I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Princeton, NJ) in Sep 2013
Interview
Starts off like any regular interview, you have a sit down with a manager and/ or assistant manager and they feel you out. If you get passed that point, they will contact you to set up a technical interview, the technical interview will consist of you bringing in a model for a cut color and partial hi light service on one model. You have to consult with the client as if you do not know the service they are receiving ect. A manager will most likely be watching you the entire time. When finished the manager will go through your models hair inspecting for accuracy.
The regional manager was ghosting me when I made several attempts inquiring about the position as hairstylist. I interviewed in February of 2020 and was accepted the position. Sadly Covid came.
I applied/inquired two times after Covid and the manager never called me back. When I finally got her on the phone she was very abrupt, dismissive, and said she is not hiring. That was not true, they are hiring.

General manager was super sweet, I think every location is different, My location was a new one so everything went by quickly. You need to do a practical interview as well.
