The store was still under construction so we went to a nearby coffee shop. Easy, standard sales/customer service oriented questions were asked. The manager was friendly and easy to talk to. I was overqualified for the position but was going back to school at the time and just wanted something easy and part-time.He told me he would love to have me during the interview and he called me later with details/salary offered later that day. I don't know if this is standard protocol or not (I doubt it, honestly), but it is how my hiring process went.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time where you went above and beyond to service a customer.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
I met with my interviewer and she was really friendly and I felt comfortable. However, half way through the interview I noticed she wasn't really paying attention to me and was looking in a different direction, which I found rude and distracting itself. I think the interview was a lot longer than it needed to be and a lot of the questions were redundant and not exactly fitting to the position. Overall, the experience wasn't bad, just not the best interview I have ever had. Still waiting to hear back.

Question 1
What is one thing a teacher or employer told you that was surprising?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (Toledo, OH) in May 2013
Interview
it was quick and easy and I did not have to do anything to prepare. It was more about the process of getting the store ready to open and the trial basis all would be hired on to see if you are a good fit. The work to open the store was pretty tedious and annoying. The only good thing about it is knowing where all the products are throughout the store.
