Recruiter and technical interviews were great. Nice people, interesting questions. But an interview with a hiring manager was very strange. At the second part of it I randomly learned that I got rejected based on the technical interview(one week ago), and he proposed a position one grade lower than in my current company. It's unclear why they couldn't tell it in advance, so everybody could save time. I guess that if I didn't ask questions, he wouldn't tell me at all.
Also in my view hiring manager's expectations are unrealistic, because they are looking for a person who is very proficient in both science and engineering, but these people mostly go to FAANG, OpenAI, or other top-tier companies with better conditions, or create startups.
