I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at WeWork (New York, NY) in Apr 2017
Interview
They must have revamped their hiring process because I had an amazing experience compared to other reviewers. I applied through their website and heard back in less than a week. My interviewer stayed in constant contact throughout the entire process, taking no longer than an hour to reply to my emails, even on weekends. The process consisted of a phone call, a coding challenge, and finally an onsite interview. Everyone I met throughout the process was friendly and seemed like they genuinely loved their job. I had to decline the offer due to another opportunity that presented itself but it was an incredibly difficult decision.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain a difficult decision you had to make on one of your recent projects.
Three months later, no reimbursement yet. I'm getting sick of pinging folks there. Maybe ask upfront when to expect reimbursement for interview-related expenses, as this is the worst experience I've ever had with reimbursement.
The onsite consisted mainly of design questions, both constrained within a legacy system and green fields.

Question 1
Q: I was asked a green fields design question that involved both a lot of backend knowledge, which I had, and frontend knowledge, which I did not have.

Interview
I applied online and I got a response from a recruiter saying they wanted to do a phone screen. Shortly after that, I got another email saying they wanted to do a tech screen and a recruiting call back to back. I should have known at that time things were gonna get messy.
Following that, I had to request and confirm with the now different recruiter the times I would be interviewing at. On the day of the interview, the interviewer was 30 minutes late, only after I prompted the recruiter to remind them of my interview. The engineer interviewing me brushed off the fact that he was 30 minutes late and merely said he didn't check his calendar. The whole interview was basically a wash and it seemed like he was doing it just because he was required. There wasn't an ounce of interest or engagement.
