I was asked to name the story I would like to cover. As I learned about the job opening from the colleague, that is the boss/bureau chief who was among the people who interviewed me, I presumed (never presume!!!! that I learned) that they were hiring a political writer. Turns out I am quite useless in calculus without a calculator, and I found all the maths problems overwhelming, especially since multiplication and division are my weak sides. So the bureau chief comes at one point, I was just half way through, and he takes the papers from me, saying I have had enough time. The following interview went well, but I messed up the test bit, so I got no offer.

HR questions : all about failure and how i could manage it. Technical 1st round : basic questions regarding my resume and the job i was applying for (portfolio management and economic theory) Technical 2nd round : Case regarding low volatility anomaly. Questions were wide. Some of the questions were easy as form a beta neutral portfolio but some were tricky.
