The manager asked me why I wanted to return to working with children. I was asked about my goals and aspirations, and myself. I was asked many questions regarding safeguarding that related to the role I was being interviewed for. I was made to feel that I mattered as part of the N Family organisation.
They asked me to explain what I would do if I had any safeguarding concerns and the steps I would take to make sure the child’s safety remained the top priority. I chose one type of abuse to focus on and described how I would follow the correct procedures including reporting my concerns to the appropriate person and ensuring everything was handled sensitively and in line with safeguarding policies.

I had prepared a five-minute presentation that I executed in my third interview. In my final interview, they asked me to do the same presentation, but in three minutes instead of five.
