Magazine publisher Vibe Media Group strikes a chord with young, hip, urban readers. The company's best-known publication, Vibe, reports on entertainers in the hip-hop and R&B industry, as well as urban culture, fashion, and politics. The monthly magazine boasts a circulation of more than 600,000 and is also available through an online subscription. Some of Vibe Media's other products include VIBE TV (available online), VIBE Mobile (offers ring-tones), and VIBE Books. Founded in 1993 by record producer Quincy Jones and former Time magazine executive Robert L. Miller, Vibe Media previously a part of Miller Publishing Group. It was acquired by private equity firm Wicks Group of Companies, LLC in 2006.
