Pros

No experience is needed to get the position, which is good if you are planning to start your career in hospitality. Flexible hours that can fit around your other arrangements.

Cons

I have been working for the company for 2 years and what looked like a great opportunity at the beginning was a big disappointment. There is absolutely no consideration of staff safety. You will often be left alone with a full hotel of guests that are aggressive and abusive. There is no training, duty managers or security provided, and managers do not want to hear about the issues as their main priority is cutting costs. Managers often violates health and safety or working hours regulations in order to meet the targets.

Best hotel group, but overrated employer

Pros

Large group and variety of opportunities, group still growing. Reputation, consistent focus on quality of service. Some really great people to work with. Belief in others potential and if you get your head down you can grow. If you are wanting a career in Hospitality in Asia Pacific, this is the group to work for.

Cons

Politics on top level. Some senior, well established people who can get away with murder. High tolerance for bad habits and pure laziness when it comes to management, as long as they are well liked by the top level (if not related to financial performance, service and not stepping on toes of someone more senior, it just goes on unadressed) Low pay, below competitors, and slim manpower. Read work more and get paid less. Little money spent in innovation. Old school in many things. Get the potential wrong a lot if times to stick with personality likes (the wrong types above who wing along but can talk. even if everyone knows, no one seem to do anything).

Pros

Systems are powerful. Lots of hotels with staff benefits worldwide.

Cons

So big that it feels like sometimes they forget you exist. Not good with getting things done as all has to be approved by Paris. Progression is slow to non-existent.
