Pros

Permanent contracts are given to employees.

Cons

Adyen is having a management crisis in which most of its managers either have no idea of what they are doing or do not care about their employees or the company. If you are searching for professional management and a sound work environment, be advised that this company might not be the best choice. The burnout cases are spreading like wildfire and there is absolutely no accountability for managers - they do whatever they want and it stays like that. I have seen first hand the company losing profitable businesses due to the inexperience and incompetence of management. The future of Adyen and its employees look grim.

Pros

- Great culture. No matter what some people might say, it's a very social company, no ego's & toxic behaviour to be found anywhere, diverse. Flat hierarchy (C-levels will literally chat to everyone), supportive managers. The Adyen Formula is a great tool to make decisions and behave in an efficient way - 'pick up the phone', working across cultures & timezones, etc. Yes, Adyen is office-first but it's actually fun to be in the office because everyone is so friendly and there's a lot of personal growth to experience because of the close team culture. - Great opportunities. People who do well are quickly rewarded with promotions, travel opportunities and even relocations/exchanges to foreign offices. Even junior/young employees are given the chance to be part of impactful projects, become team leads and travel to customer visits. - Compensation (monetary & non-monetary) has been upgraded recently and is very competitive. Base salary is good, additional benefits are great and include allowances, relo packages, travel opportunities, free food, barista's, expensable team events etc. - Hypergrowth - it's a cool stage to be in this company, everything moves fast and work changes all the time.

Cons

- Commuter & travel benefits could be better, HR team could do more on the partnerships side to improve employee benefits - i.e. preferred airline status benefit, bike plans, unlimited public transport cards for North America based employees. There is currently a pre-tax commuter benefit but could be better. - Diversity / DEI in the Amsterdam office could be improved. In other offices it seems better, especially in North America.
