Pros

Most of the people you work with are great. Opportunity to make great money if you land a big account.

Cons

Micromanaged so strictly. Have to work a TON of hours and put in a lot of face time. Benefits are terrible.

Pros

Aerotek's temp job with LSI in Lakehurst is well paying, with stable hours, and willing to let you take time off for personal issues (but those days are unpaid). The commute is counter traffic for most. They hire veterans. Very quick hiring process.

Cons

After X months on contract you get perm. hired if you work hard, but beware UNION politics. People are trying to protect their position and will stab you down if need be. The work is boring at times, but many of the workers are nice. Just avoid office politics. The hangar work is exposed to the elements, so it can get cold or hot, depending on the month. Do not mess up. If you do, you can get fired on the spot.

Pros

If you have been having trouble finding a job, getting a temp position as a contractor for Aerotek may be a quick (although not neccessarily the best) way to get your foot in the door at a company and start making a reasonable (though not stellar) salary. Although you will probably make less per hour than a regular employee, the pay is better than most temp jobs or other types of low-level jobs you might take while searching for a permanent career-oriented position.

Cons

Benefits are almost non-existent. As a contractor for Aerotek, you can't take any vacatio for the first year. After that, you get 5 days of Paid-Time-Off per year, which you earn as you go. If the company you contract for is closed but Aerotek's home office is open? Then it uses up one of your PTO days. Is your kid sick? PTO day. Forget about going anywhere on vacation. If you are out of PTO days and you miss a day, you don't get paid. Simple as that. There is no match on the 401K and the health plans offer ridiculously poor coverage. Also, high turnover at the Aerotek branch locations leads to poorly trained staff- these are the people who are responsible for getting you raises, tracking your PTO time, getting you new temp positions when the current one ends, etc. You can see how this presents a problem.
