Pros

I met great people while working at Aerotek.

Cons

This job is a nightmare. You have 0 work/life balance. You get looked at wrong if you leave the office before 6pm at night (you have to get there at 7:30am every morning). It is beyond stressful. There are so many metrics to hit that it becomes overwhelming. In the last week I've seen at least three people cry at work. But they brainwash you into thinking there aren't other jobs out there for you so people feel stuck. There is no growth opportunity unless you want to become a schmoozy sales person. You get told you have to work at least 8 hours of overtime but in reality it's at least 10-20. This job is only for those that don't want to have a life outside of work.

- Committed to diversity - Grown organically, everyone starts out at the bottom - Pay is excellent if you can produce results - Excellent place to start a career for a recent college graduate

Cons

- Recent management changes in NW Region have degraded culture - Not all office locations are equal - Recruiting experts in the company have no incentive to stay - No work/life balance, especially if you have a family

Pros

....Absolutely no pros to add. It is a little bit better than being unemployed but in reality is not worth the stress.

Cons

No sour grapes at all regarding this job and the role I was hired for but this had to have been the worst experience of my life. It took me a while to write up a review as I worked there in the Richmond, VA office in late 2014. I wanted to experience what other staffing companies were like and once I did I now have a very valid opinion about this company and management. First off, during the interview process they over sell you on the opportunity and the people. They create this perception like the office is a big family. They sold me on that as I am big on company culture. My very first day I found out that was not the case at all, they watch out for their own back and it is not a team environment and far from a family. Aside from the pay, matrix's and the 50 plus hours they expect you to work I have to say that this place is incredibly micro-managed. People are always watching you and they take things you say and twist them and run to management about it. Work to life balance does not exist here, they do not value you as a person and you are only as good to them as what you have done for them lately. They put zero effort into getting to know you as a person. They talk down to you, belittle you as a person and make you feel like you are nothing short of worthless. About the role itself, as a recruiter you have to be scripted, you cannot be yourself. They have you read a script "elevator speech" to candidates and despite this being low wage type of reqs that you are working, it turns the candidate off on most cases. Based on my comparisons of the other staffing companies I have had connections with and the current staffing company I work for now I can honestly tell you that there is a reason why Aerotek hires recent college grads. It is because people with experience especially in the staffing space know that this is a pyramid scheme and people also prefer not to be micro managed and Aerotek also knows the turnover rate will be high so the college grads are the only ones they can sell to about the job until they end up quitting 6-12 months later if not earlier. Bad people, horrible managers and overall a horrific company to work for. If you do not fit their culture then you need to get out faster than you came in because they are quick to turn on you. I would like to think that this is just the Richmond, Roanoke and Winchester VA offices that has a bad vibe and feel to it because those are the offices the Director monitors. I believe other Aerotek offices are a pleasure to work for who values you as an individual rather than a number and also accepts you for who you are instead of forcing you to fit a mold that they want you to be.
