Pros

* The interview process was rather long but super transparent (~2 months) * The people and the work culture here is amazing. I've met kind people from all around the world * The job is fully remote and flexible * The payment is relatively much better than in companies based in Colombia and I guess in most countries in Latin America * HR apparently do cares about you and encourages you to make progress on you career path by taking courses, etc * You have a one-time 300 USD budget for buying stuff for your home office and a yearly 350 USD budget for buying courses, paying your gym or hang out with your coworkers. * I was given a really good pc to work with

Cons

* You are paid per hour and are required to work 40 hours per week. All good there, but basically the hour you do not work, the hour you do not get paid, so you do not have paid leaves or vacations. * You are basically hired to work for their clients (They sell themselves as a consultancy company, but act more like an outsourcer), so the moment the project finishes, the moment you enter a bench period in which you are not paid. A good point is HR tries to relocate you as soon as possible, but what if there are still months left for you to get the next project?... * No paid holidays and again, even if your client has a holiday, you are not paid if you do not work that day. * Also, no paid leaves. If you are sick, or need a maternity/paternity leave, then you are scr*wed up, which is annoying. These cons make you feel sometimes as if you were all by yourself and not were part of the company.

AgileEngine Response

Thank you for sharing such a detailed review. We’re glad to hear you value our transparent interview process, fully remote and flexible work environment, supportive culture, and the resources we provide for growth—like home office equipment, professional development budgets, and HR career support. We also appreciate your feedback on compensation and project-based engagement. We understand that hourly contracts without paid leaves can be challenging, especially between projects. Our HR team works to place team members quickly, but we recognize the need for stability and support during these times. Your suggestions about paid vacations and holidays are very helpful as we explore improvements. Your feedback is important and will guide us as we refine processes, enhance support, and maintain the positive, flexible culture that makes AgileEngine unique.
