Pros

Breakfast and lunch are provided five days a week, but they can go over the top with their desire to promote healthy eating. When they choose to serve normal and palatable food, it is often during an all-hands meeting to incentivize attendance Comprehensive insurance coverage, but this was recently (and suddenly) reduced to 90% coverage Modern IT equipment Work from home policy, but this depends largely on your manager
Supportive shift deputies Casual working attire

Cons

Coming from the Mandarin team, you can belong anywhere, as long as you play by their ridiculous rules. The core values are taken out of context and twisted to use against you during your performance reviews. No expectations or KPIs are set, there is no proper feedback delivery and all the information given during reviews are brand new. Promotion criteria is biased and unclear, brown nosing is rewarded and encouraged.
In this role, you report to middle management, who are called Leads instead of Managers. This is fitting because they know nothing about managing people, and if left unchecked, will lead the rest of the team out the door. Talent is aware but chooses to continue turning a blind eye to the problems, because of course they would. As much as they try to pretend that they are on your side, they exist solely to protect the interest of the company.
Lead who tries to control where you work and who you sit with, despite Airbnb constantly promoting the fact that employees can choose to work anywhere they want in the office. Moreover, who you choose to eat with during lunch breaks will also be controlled.
Lead was not receptive to feedback, you are seen as difficult if you have a different opinion. When they ask for your thoughts, they actually want to hear their opinion in a different voice. On the other hand, lead will impose their own opinions on the rest of the team when they have an issue with you. This is so that the feedback you receive is that, "The team disagrees" rather than "I disagree". There is also a fake democracy when it comes to opportunities and projects. You are asked to show interest and explain why you should be given this opportunity, however they already have chosen someone to take this role. If the person they want does not show interest, they will reach out to this person privately to nudge them. I have seen this with my own eyes and it really wastes the time and effort of people who are actually genuinely interested.

Pros

People are nice to each other. Lots of positive thinking; lots of cheerleading. My team is hosting birthdays, anniversaries for every member. Definitely politically correct, sometimes feel like overly correct.

Cons

Cannot speak for other teams, but in my team, performance is purely based upon results. And not on any good results, but certain results desired by the management. You could easily find your contribution "annulled" because those results aren't what are cared about by managers. People tend to avoid direct confrontation and being nice in the first place, then you might find yourself backstabbed. Are there lots of politics? I've seen worse in other places. Lots of people pretend to be caring about core values, cultures, goodness but actually what they care might just be stock units and compensation. This is frustrating to me as I sincerely joined because of some idealistic belief. Now I'm just loathing myself for being naive and stupid. Well, guess I'll just have to eat the xx up and carry on....

Pros

If you like free food.

Cons

ALL of the senior management at this company are only there because they've been at the company for the longest. They lack experience and most of all common decency as human beings. Most of them started as customer service reps and yet somehow are now senior managers. The clique-ish, immature, abrasive and confrontational atmosphere is becoming so thick you can smell it through the halls. There is a lack of business protocol and instead an abundance of theoretical strategy that gets them NOWHERE. They have succeeded in spite of themselves. I give this company another year before the hole in the dam erupts and they start flooding the streets with lost revenue and laid off employees. A true disgrace.
