Pros

17+ years ago this was a great place to work. Management was for the employees, all kinds of incentives and benefits. Made you happy to come to work.

Cons

New management came in, striped all employee incentives. Became a very unpleasant place to work. Lots of layoffs and out sourcing of jobs.

A company whose goal is to reduce staff at any cost

Pros

It WAS a great company to work for when it was Courtaulds. It's only taken 18 years for AkzoNobel to asset strip every last bit of the business, leaving the most profitable part (the R&D function) to labour under intense pressure to produce results. Every other part of the business has either been down-sized, obliterated or outsourced. There is nothing worth coming to work for now.

Cons

Pathetic tick-in-the-box feedback for the so -called Viewpoint survey. God help you if you dare to speak your mind. Timesheeting and bean-counting gone crazy. Executive Management who come and go like it was a hotel. Distinct lack of direction Total disregard for employees - they are simply number on the bottom line which need to be reduced for the shareholders' benefit.
