Pros

I've landed in a team that is really patient on waiting for me to be ready to take on the expected responsibilities for my role. I've had plenty of time to connect with peers, take courses, ask questions, and understand Amazon culture. My manager assigned me the first project came only 3 weeks after I was focusing on getting ready.

Cons

Frugality, an Amazon leadership principle, extends to perks and benefits. Compared to other companies such as Google, Microsoft and Facebook, to name a few, they are practically non-existent.

Pros

There's a lot of material to help you find your way around what you're going to do and how the company works, that's amazing. Besides, no one expects you to go crazy working without understanding the process.

Cons

It's not necessarily a con, but it's a giant company and for those who've never had such an experience it can be scary.
