Pros

Working on the product gives you chances to travel onsite for short terms ( less than a month) mostly. Benefits are good at amdocs as it provided free breakfast meal along mid and evening snacks. Lunch buffet is subsidised and offer variety. Free parking for two and four wheelers. Trainings are great as external consultants are hired to train and they have good knowledge.

Cons

Quality of work is very poor in amdocs as the product is stable from years and built upon old technologies like Java, EJB, SQL (basic) and most of the things are covered up under framework and you will never get to work on core technologies. Most of the work is kind of support and new developments are rare to happen. Weekend on call supports or night shifts might be common according to the project. Once you are stuck with amdocs for more than a year or two, its gets difficult to switch as the work is mostly on internal products and frameworks which are no where to use outside. Working environment is also bad. Leads are not much knowledgeable and have lay back attitude. PS: Left the company within 6 months.

Pros

Local work and accounts. You can when it is available get on projects that are in your home town. Since there is really not much of a pipeline though, you may be forced to an overseas engagement.

Cons

There is no culture developed for the consulting team. There is no bench. You can lose your job just because your assignment is over. Even your manager does not stand up for you. They only compete on price and not quality of the deliverables.
