Toxic Environnement at Treasury Department

Pros

Aperam is generally a good place to work.

Cons

However, I highly advise avoiding the Treasury department due to its highly toxic environment and encouragement of psychological harassment. Instances of employees being screamed at are not uncommon, and it's not unheard of for management to behave disrespectfully, such as putting their feet up in your face during one-on-one meetings, especially towards younger employees. There is also a sense of surveillance enforced by managers and even by some colleagues. Some bankers have reported being treated awkwardly in meetings at the Luxemburg Headquarters, with the Head Manager often ignoring them watching his phone and responding dismissively while they were presenting their products. It doesn't take long for new employees to realize why the best people are unhappy with this situation. Unfortunately, some other employees take advantage of it, by bullying. Despite some individuals reporting these issues at their exit interview, no action seems to be taken because business continues as usual. Lately, the managers sent various emails to the team to request to stop talking too much to someone from their own team who was leaving the company soon! There is a fear to speak up, as it's widely believed that no action will be taken. I'm grateful to have found a new workplace where things aren't perfect, but harassment and lack of respect are not tolerated, and unnecessary old-fashioned manual processes have disappeared from the treasury environment.
