orking at an Apple store can be one of the most informative jobs a young adult can get. The pay is excellent even at an entry position. The environment is great for those who are naturally social since you're constantly dealing with a lot customers every shift. There's a great deal of emphasis placed on personal development and that's one of the great highl

No Room For Growth

Pros

-Excellent benefits -Decent discounts -Stock options -Tuition reimbursement, but only if it applies to a position at Apple

Cons

-Horrible pay rate considering Apple is a trillion dollar company. -Micro-managing gets to be exhausting leading to burnout. -Your schedule never stays the same which leads to a poor work-life balance, and is based solely on performance. -You will work holidays and weekends which makes no sense as we are not saving lives. -Adequate time is not given to employees to improve themselves. Yes they have tuition reimbursement but you will not be able to better yourself by going to school because they will not give you any schedule accommodations to attend classes. -Seniority counts for nothing which leads to a horrible work culture -Upper management at Apple takes no accountability for their mistakes and instead lets the frontline workers absorb all the criticism for flaws in their hardware and software. -This becomes evident with the survey system they deploy to customers asking them for feedback on their interactions with said frontline workers. Most customers tend to be angry at Apple’s hardware and software, but end up giving the advisor they worked with a bad survey thinking that’ll help improve products when in reality it only affects the advisor negatively in the form of getting a bad schedule, or denied for other opportunities within Apple. -Apple says to be comfortable with change, but in my 10 years of working at the company nothing has changed. -Age discrimination is real here.

Pros

the people; the benefits, the opportunities

Cons

Be prepared to work; while the work is incredibly rewarding. Expectations are high if you are not up to putting in the time.. challenges will ensue.
