Pros

Getting to make connections in the Retail and Quick Service Restaurant industries. They seem to encourage diversity. As a minority in leadership, I'm rarely the only minority in the room which is refreshing.

Cons

Cooperate will make changes and then communicate to you at 5PM to execute it by the next day. Higher ups will constantly slice the labor budget but then reprimand you when things don't get completed or have a delay in completion. No work life balance. Since the plazas are 24 hours they demand you're available 24/7. The higher ups are the type of people to schedule a holiday party the same day as a Full Store Audit just so they can avoid the responsibility. Which leaves you to work a 15 hour day doing it alone... Then seem baffled that you're upset about it...

Controller function failing to meet operational standards Core responsibilities—accuracy, timeliness, reconciliations, and reporting discipline—are not consistently delivered. Issues are routinely attributed to the team rather than addressed through effective leadership and accountability. Repeated reports of inappropriate and unacceptable language by the Controller Multiple incidents have been reported involving language that violates company standards of professionalism and respect. Such conduct is unacceptable in a U.S. workplace and creates significant HR, legal, and reputational risk.
