Pros

Work life balance is good at Dofasco. You get to go home on time most of the time. Technology folks are professional to work with and bring in positive culture. Benefits and profit sharing is really good!

Cons

Base salary is not competitive. Bonuses can vary from year to year. If you win the lucky draw of toxic, crusty trades people to work with, then job can become a hell with unprofessional behavior. Otherwise, it is all good. Shop floor folks (trades and ops) can foster very negative atmosphere at times. Need to be a positive person to survive.

-management used to be supportive -Good Pay if you're new grad - good benefits and employer contributions to RRSP.

Cons

-may take over a year to obtain a full-time contract, if not longer -only starting 1.5 days of vacation starting. -almost impossible to move up and get regular promotion. -management wants office workers to return 3 days a week after 2 Years of successfully doing the job remotely and have made life decisions based on the information we were given. You are required to come into the office, sit on your old style cubicle, wear a mask at all times, come into office on different days as coworkers and attend Teams meeting at our desk while wearing a mask and socially distancing.. a bit of a waste of commuting time and money
