Potential to be great, but really needs to think about its people more.
Pros
- The actual workforce. I’ve worked with people from many departments over several years and found most to be extremely hard working and genuinely nice. - Great pension scheme, private healthcare and annual leave.
Cons
- It’s chaotic, mainly due to its lack of consistent communication channels between teams and defined processes. - Keeping the shareholders happy is a priority, the workforce comes last. This message is - in between the lines - reinforced at every townhall. - Zero incentive for loyalty and helping to grow the business over many years, apart from the additional holidays. - There is no consistency as to who gets what % of bonus. Some get more even if they have less responsibilities. - Very little training that can actually lead to progression and no proper career path, at least in some teams. Promotions are often granted to whomever is best at networking or if you threaten to leave. - One sided views on flexibility and WFH have caused (very talented) people to leave in the past. Some senior leaders clearly prefer being in the office and they impose the same rule on everyone in their team, thinking that is the only right way rather than accepting that everyone works differently or has different circumstances. If you have a different opinion, you can forget any career progression or worse, you will be asked to leave. - There are initiatives about diversity and equality, however that is mainly on paper. When looking at the senior leadership, there is little diversity. - Work can interfere with your family life, but don’t you dare let your family life interfere with your work life.
