      Great place to learn about commodity markets

      Pros

      Argus offers more attractive compensation compared with its competitors. You work as hard as you want; editors tend not to breathe down your neck. Bosses are friendly.

      Cons

      Lack of direction; the firm through acquisitions is expanding into so many sectors at an alarming rate. Management favours certain desks and that can be a stumbling block if you're not on a favoured one. Little opportunity for career progression.

      Pros

      Some nice and talented co-workers. Competitive salary.

      Cons

      If you are looking for a place to grow as a journalist, then you should avoid this company. You will end up compiling numbers and putting them on a spreadsheet. The management is terrible as they keep promising things that cannot deliver. Plenty of managers lack social skills and treat their employees with no respect, this is even worse if you are a female worker.

      Salary is above average for journalists

      Cons

      Absolutely zero scope for career progression. Company does little to develop employees' skills or to reward good work or recognise talent and potential. At the same time, sub-standard members of staff are allowed to get away with turning out poor content without facing any consequences. If you take any pride in your work or your journalism career, this quickly becomes a very demoralising place to work.
