Assurant is a company going down the drain

Pros

Assurant used to be a better company, and as of late it has started to go down hill. I posted a review sometime ago and was responded to and soufht the route suggested by speaking with the people organization about post graduate degree reimbursement and have not even been replied to, in addition my current degree should allow me into more then front line phones and i have submitted applications and resumes for other positions including unit manager, accounting and have not been seen for a interview. Most recemtly i submitted for a planning analyst which recommends BA business, supply chain management, i receive a denial email stating that i do not have the qualifications. But i have a BA in business with a Minor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management so i dont know how im not qualified with an active background in the field. in addition from my understanding new hires for customer care roles no longer receive training in groups and rather are provided One Note training packets and is self study with meetings once a week with management. Also now the ERIN has been provided Human Resources is non existant or at least not able to be reached for any reason and i have tried. Assurant is a company that will ultimately fail if continuing down the road and it is a shame, 4 years with the company and i have seen it go down the drain.

Pros

No pros to working here.

Cons

The work is extremely stressful. Assurant is a third party service providers for many mortgage companies. The customer services jobs pay the same no matter which mortgage company your represent, and all of the positions pay the same, but what is expected of you can vary tremendously. For example, in some customer service jobs give you at least 3-4 minutes between calls, but they usually get at least 10 - 15 minutes between calls. The position I had had the same pay, but we only got 30 seconds between calls, and we would have to take calls back-to-back for the entire shift with only 30 seconds between calls. Often the caller would hang up before you could finish the notes you were required to put into the system, and you would still get a call in 30 seconds whether you were done or not. Also, advancement within the company is not based on merit at all. It does not matter how good you are at your job. You can only advance if someone who is in a position to help you decides they like you. I saw people who never did there job and were on a final warning for attendance problems get promoted while people who were very nice and got along with everyone, were amazing at their job and had no attendance problems or disciplinary problems could never get promoted. That is no way to run a company. Also, medical benefits are a joke.
