Pros

My colleague in our IT STAFF were all started in small company until it become a CORPORATION; always respect each other expertise like we are FAMILY. We learned to work as a TEAM at all times, willing to give up weekends plus worked long hours as needed, knowing the key players in order to complete the assigned PROJECT deadlines.

Cons

The scheduled PRODUCTION IMPLEMENTATION needs major preparation and meetings to attend. The allocated time frame needs proper arranging for VALIDATION and successfully achieves the IMPLEMENTATION error free as scheduled. I need to perform multi tasks on a daily basis and work after hours for any EMERGENCY turnover release.

Pros

They pay for licensing, they have extensive training (in some departments) and they have a general work/life balance. Posting out for other internal opportunities is encouraged.

Cons

Micro Management. Director Level manages "at arms length" and NEVER tries to get to know the clunky job functions and what it takes to actually implement initiatives. Other people can make mistake after mistake after mistake and the ones that pay the price are the people that have to clean up THEIR MESS. If in sales, the sales compensation document you sign isn't worth the paper it's written on. Assurant is obsessed with the "carrot and stick" method of sales management. The goals, while barely achievable, if achieved will be changed at the last minute and you WILL NOT be paid, because the terms of the agreement are changed at the last minute. There they go, pulling up the stick so you can't actually have the carrot. Silly wabbit.
