If start at Assurant at Entry Level, be prepared to stay there. They rarely, if ever, promote from with in. However, if you enter in as management, you may have a better chance. Also, there were many incentive prograams available when I first started in 2005, but as the years progressed they slowly did away with all of them, as well as changed the company's health insurance package. They still expected a large amount of overtime, but no longer made the idea of all that work appealing.

Management is clueless - assume that by walking around smiling alot they inspire confidence. Been bleeding talent for a year or more and don't seem to notice (or assume it is something besides them). When a VP is failing, they just move him or her to another area (apparently in an attempt to spread the failure around evenly so as not to have a big impact . . . rather than actually getting rid of people who are incompetent). Projects are constantly behind, and when completed are done so with poor quality (maybe giving a due date before any estimates are done is a bad idea). Such a shame as there are some really great people there - at least for now.
