      Better than being unemployed (almost)

      Cons

      Was hired in being told that I could do 40 hours in 4 days and and have one weekday off every week. This was a perfect situation for our young family and allowed me to share the burden of childcare with my wife. Within weeks of accepting the job I was told that I would have to work 5 days a week with no time off. No explanations. Like it or leave. Shame on me for believing what they said. I really believed the BS.

      Good benefits, profit sharing, nice lunchroom and locker rooms, good security.

      Cons

      Extreme lack of work life balance, rotating schedules so they can work you 7 days in a row without paying you overtime, high demand and high stress depending on the area you end up in, HR cant answer a phone or respond to messages so you better hope you have time to wait around for them when they're actually in the office, you have to wait a year for small couple cent raise thats not based on performance, people who have worked there for 15+ years dont make much more than new employees.

      Large secure industry, Team oriented environment, good support system.

      Cons

      Company seems to hire in terms of quantity rather than competency. Salary is more dependent on time rather than skill level which leads to overpaid complacent senior engineers with less competency than younger under paid team members.
