Archaic culture focused on hierarchy Toxic working dynamic/culture Glass ceiling for you unless you buy into the politics and play games (more so than anywhere I have ever seen) Propensity to stick with status quo so as not to ruffle feathers (ego management) Glory-hunting, dishonest behaviours across the organisation Unreasonable amounts of time spent aligning on how to discuss particular topics rather than actually discussing them. Psychological fear persists despite constant messages encouraging speaking up.
