Pros

Exciting Science, good people, general freedom to work. Work life balance also good.

Cons

The corporate strategy is overly ambitious. The company is called 'bluerock' because it is a moonshot. Know the risk you are taking if you are joining this company.

Pros

Another "plug-and-play" platform, but has potential to work with the right guidance, timelines, and decisions. The people are some of the best, as scientists and good humans, and a large factor in deciding to work here. Mid-size company that is very structured with respect to which teams are responsible for various aspects of projects, though all involved are then celebrated when milestones are achieved. The LTI incentive is a solid reason to work hard and stay at the company.

Cons

The upsides are also the downsides in that the potential goes to waste due to a lack of vision and understanding of realistic timelines and data expectations. Decisions made at the top can seem very far removed from what's actually happening in the lab, while having a huge impact on those in the lab. Sometimes there seems to be preferential treatment of non-research employees (WFH/hybrid ability) over research employees. Long-term goals with short-term planning.
