      Formal place to work with good benfits

      Pros

      They allow flexible work schedules, if you work for the right manager. Not everyone has the same opinions about work life balance, it varies across the company.

      Cons

      Very title oriented, to some employees this isn't a major factor to how other are treated, but to others they don't think they have to be cordial to you if you don't "rank" in their "level". There are a lot of groups within the firm, each group acts as a separate entity. It is almost as if we all work for different companies. Not very laid back or open place to work. Most people where suits all the time (men and women), kind of an uptight environment to work in.

      The work life balance at Booz Allen was definitely a perk worth having.

      Advancement opportunities were limited and I had to find my own work instead of the company finding it for me.

      Pros

      Booz Allen Hamilton is a challenge to master, but when that occurs, you can write your own ticket. The work is as diverse as any consulting firm but many of the employees are of exceptional caliber. Ther are not many 'slackers' at Booz Allen, they don't survive long and there is a heavy emphasis on being the 'best' you can be within your industry and attaining the right educational and professional credentials to support knowledge gained.

      Cons

      Some of the downsides include a fairly rigorous "chain of command" in terms of who is responsible for what and what perks may exist. Another is the whole company marketing approach which means that client relationships are handled a certain way and if you don't understand this process, it can take a long time to become successful.
