      This place is ridiculous

      Pros

      Possibility of working on interesting contracts with impact on the public good

      Cons

      This is a huge company so I'm not sure if my issues apply to teams other than the one I worked on. Don't believe anything you're told during the recruitment process. This company does not support work life balance and they do not really adhere to the "work where you live" policy they will describe to you in recruitment. Leadership is not impressive compared to leadership I've worked with in the private sector. The work product is often cobbled together and not germane. This is not a place to work if you want to be inspired by the best and brightest.

      Pros

      The company has good name recognition and the client I support is interesting. Probably wouldn't recommend a friend to the company based on annual reviews.

      Cons

      Annual reviews are excruiating at best. To make matters worse, management has decided on your promote/non-promote prior to anything being turned in...yet you are dinged if you do not play along in the futile exercise and complete the 'optional' (read mandatory) self assessment.

      - Amazing people you get to work with, truly some of the best I've met in my career - Offers good employee training resources and a good yearly stipend to spend on training and certs

      Cons

      - Upper management went completely quiet during the 2025 federal budget cuts and then without any warning, fired 3,000 people after a record revenue year - Recently a massive loss of culture that used to make BAH feel different than other consulting companies - Very difficult to get promoted, and no bonus structure for anyone under Senior Associate - The severance package was atrociously bad and the severance process was horrible
