Too many reorgs, too little strategy

Pros

Amazing colleagues who are incredibly smart and fun to work with.

Cons

The senior leadership team is nearly all new, and they all have different ideas about what CDP is and should be. There have been multiple reorgs in the last two years, each one more chaotic than the last and no clear strategy. In May 2025 ~20% of the org was let go, but with a ton of unintended consequences because management didn't understand half of the roles. Also, it used to be a remote first org, which made sense since it was truly global and your colleagues and external stakeholders are all over the world, but the new management in London decided that they want a hybrid model going forward, so be prepared to come to the office to sit on Teams calls all day.

Pros

The people are united by the mission to address the climate crisis. The benefits in certain regions are good though in-office requirements are trending in new job requisitions.

Cons

Everything has been upended for the worse. There were at least 3 significant restructures in a very short timespan. There are no proper channels to provide feedback on poor people managers leaving direct reports to fend for themselves in a turbulent environment with conflicting direction. If you join in the next year at least, expect to spend most of your time putting out fires that should not have been started in the first place. It will take a lot of patience and evidence before employees start to regain faith in the work again. No one feels empowered to challenge decisions or the new corporate culture. The people running the show have just about run this place to the ground, and if your line manager has little influence in the organization, your team and mental health will bear the brunt unfortunately. I think many feel stuck and are just waiting for change to come.

Pros

Passionate people with ambition to make an impact

Cons

Terrible management that doesn’t like to be challenged yet pretends to have an open door policy. Poor strategic planning. Closes several emerging market offices to “save costs” yet hires several C-suite management. NGO that cries for having limited resources yet can afford work trips to Switzerland. Keep restructuring non stop without an end. Mission driven non profit turned into a greedy company.
