      The good, the bad, and the ugly, about Cadence!

      Pros

      Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k match) are outstanding. Good pay. If you like coming in each day, doing your job, and leaving, Cadence might be a good match for you. Work/Life balance has greatly improved over the years, mostly due to complacency with management.

      Cons

      Cadence is so top heavy that upward mobility is virtually non-existent, unless you toe the line or 'threaten to leave.' The threat to leave doesn't work as well as it used too given the current state at Cadence. Cadence lacks serious innovation internally and leadership is severely lacking. Getting anyone to listen at Cadence is like trying to turn an air craft carrier! There are almost no daily challenges at Cadence any more. The biggest challenge is dealing with management staff which has been promoted without the skills to do their jobs effectively.

      If you are lucky, you will get a good humane lead.

      Cons

      One of the worst companies to work for. Zero work life balance. Management loves to see you suffer. You get forced to work on leaves, weekends. Formal release signoffs are scheduled for Mondays so you work off the weekend. Taking leaves is discouraged. Leads literally shout at you and harass you for no reason. Management turns a blind eye towards everything. Firing happens annually. Hikes are miserable. Recently lots of firing is happening in the PV and R&D organization.
