      Not as great as it used to be

      Pros

      Pay and benefits are great, so are the severance packages, which is great when you get managed out for 'performance' so they can hit their 10% forced attrition goal (back door layoffs)

      Cons

      Their move to being a 'Tech Company' may be great for all the folks they poach from Google and Meta, but they seemed to have forgotten that they need people to run their operations...well, at least until they can automate practically everything. Then their journey to the dark side will be complete. Also, hunger games style performance reviews. Did everything asked of you? To bad, your manager wasn't any good at arguing for your rating or you weren't some sr leader's pet, you're gonna be fodder for their 'Below Strong' bucket...

      Pros

      Company is good to technology and software engineering employees and good for benefits. Company values are good, just not in TA.

      Cons

      Tech TA isn't treated well at all. Many broken systems and bad management. Everything revolves around an old school brown nose, popularity contest type of culture. A lot of create your own value by making up pointless meetings and "omg that's amazing" type of responses to managements every word. Metrics are "rank and yank" bell-curve style not based on actual numbers. Scheduling is bad, and you will become a sourcer not a true inhouse recruiter here.

      Incompetent Managers Toxic work culture All the best work happens in USA. Folks in Canada only tweak it. Worst employer in Canada - relies on USA rating to lure talent but cannot retain them They give you a hefty sign on bonus that you have to return if you leave. Most folks use up the bonus before they realize the hell hole they have gotten themselves into. Attrition is through the roof. HR and leadership don’t care
