Pros

-Good place to learn -Good structure and work/life balance

Cons

- The Malaysian office works pretty badly. - Office politics are good, however, the works are cascaded unevenly between the employees. Thus, encountering a highly paid employee with less workload is normal. Meanwhile, the next to them are the lowly paid employees that are handling the bulk of the work - Career development are next to none, as the manager decides to approve or not which most of the time, your choice is not what they want. - Increments are around 4-5% if you have met your KPI/KRA - They do retrench people without much notice and real explanation - employees are very demotivated that the turnover was high. - Daily conversation of switching jobs are often heard amongst the employees.

Pros

Cargill offers a well-balanced work schedule and a decent amount of leave, making it easier to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, their mission is inspiring and gives a sense of purpose to the work we do.

Cons

New leadership has completely destroyed the once positive culture, replacing it with an environment of micromanagement and excessive red tape. They lack a core understanding of the work we do, leading to unrealistic expectations and poor decision-making. Despite claiming to be people-centric, there is a glaring lack of recognition for hard work, and employees are treated as mere cogs in the machine. Overall, the disconnect between their words and actions has made this a deeply frustrating and demoralizing place to work. There is no professional growth or focus on upskilling employees; they claim to be a global organization, however, over the past 3-4 years it’s become more and more North America centric making it difficult for colleagues in other countries to deliver their roles. You might be hired for a certain role and skill set and are asked to take on work for a completely different skill set, and are at times deliberately set up for failure. In the recent layoffs, colleagues were treated very poorly; with lack of empathy and compassion towards employees it’s not the place that it once used to be.

Pros

Big company, lots of opportunities

Cons

People come last, lack of diversity in race and gender. Women especially beware. Bully culture. Changing targets and budgets that you don’t even learn until almost two months into the fiscal year. Forecasting, accounting, IT, financial reporting are inconsistent, a total disaster. Complete lack of data integrity. Zero marketing talent and opinions make decisions over expertise or insights. If you care about your career, Cargill is not a healthy place for anyone. Fire people constantly no matter if two, twenty or thirty years. All chalked up to “restructuring.” Never seen anything like it.
