Pros

- Cargill espouses a very good people culture, encouraging everyone regardless of rank to speak up and to be a leader. - progressive working culture with work from home a norm long before Covid 19 existed. - encourages team work and in general, politics is minimal but not non existent, depending on the level management you are in. - in general, your bosses listens to your views and grouses and are most are genuine in their concerns. - has a very good sales incentive program.

Cons

- there are some in Cargill who has been working there for too long and does not really understand the outside world. - the old guards still think that Cargill is king of the world in their industry when in reality today’s world is very different and our competitors are not to be underestimated - too internally focused. So although they claim to be customer focused, not everyone thinks this way. - too much bureaucracy and the downside of listening to all, is the tendency to satisfy everyone is too high. This leads to a long time in making any decision, if this happens at all. - the recent restructuring of the functions have created silo mentalities.

Pros

Good pay and work-life balance

Cons

The company values mediocrity. Cargill is an acquisition company, it does not really produce goods or services. The senior leadership is low talent and not very impressive. People walk around boasting about their strategies "my strategy is...", but from the way that the company performs and operates it is clear that the strategies don't work. Cargill is privately held so there is a massive lack of transparency. The goal is to make money for the living Cargill family members and keep them happy. You can be lazy here and make good money. That is the norm and is encouraged. Smile a lot, be a yes person, look busy , oh and walk around talking about your strategies (whether you have any or not) and you will fit in just fine.
