Pros

-I can honestly say that I learned so much in my time here which has made me a better salesperson/account manager. -Working in the marketing advisory sector was a an industry I found interesting. -Management are generally supportive and want to see people succeed. -People on the whole are decent, hard-working and well-meaning.

Cons

From my time working at centaur it became very apparent that a lot of people are more interested in internal politics than actually improving things for customers or making staff members lives just a little bit easier. This is particularly evident by people who are expected to go to internal meetings where they say nothing or very little, but are there to appease senior management. This element of the culture of the business permeates in many different aspects, where people have to rigidly stick to processes which are unnecessarily cumbersome, and more worryingly damage the business . This is particularly prevalent with the finance department where the process of getting sales approved has been made harder for no good reason, finance actively pursue policies that put a strain on relationships with clients, there’s also a lot of unnecessary forms to fill out with finance. Also members in the finance department do lie about staff members, so current or potential employees be warned. The hr department also put in place a number of policies that hold people back, and frankly appear to be non-sensical. This is seen, by the internal promotion of staff members to be very rigid, hr have adopted policies that mean numerous talented employees have had to leave the business, and their recruitment processes mean that certain vacancies go for months being open whilst the business suffers. Also the business was incredibly strict about allowing people back to the office and while that suited many it didn’t work for everyone but rules are rules. Also the culture of the business is very weak in the sense that if you do go into the office, you sit in virtual silence and the social aspect is pretty much non existent. Senior management acknowledge that this is a problem but seem to have ran out of ideas on how to fix it.
